Hi, I’m Lina! I’m a Mom, cat lady, lifelong reader, and the person behind The Wayward Page.

I was born and raised in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and have called the Pacific Northwest home for the last 10 years. I was raised by educators, so books and reading were always a big part of my life.

I started my reading journey like so many young girls with The American Girl books (Molly was my girl), but really fell in love with reading when I discovered Gail Carson Levine and Tolkien. The Two Princesses of Bamarre is still one of my all-time favorites, and The Hobbit showed me just how completely you could disappear into a world someone created.

My reading tastes have gotten a little more chaotic since then. These days you'll find me reading everything from fantasy and weird girl fiction to nonfiction, classics, romance, and whatever strange little book happens to catch my attention.

Owning a bookstore has been one of those dreams that's followed me around for most of my life. I always imagined I'd own one, work in one, or become a librarian. Life took me in other directions for a while, and then, of all things, a Nintendo game brought the idea back.

While playing Tiny Bookshop, I had the thought: Wait... could I actually do this?

I started looking into it, discovered people all over the country turning trailers, vans, and buses into mobile bookstores, and decided maybe it was finally time to stop dreaming about it.

So I bought a little green trailer, and The Wayward Page was born.

My hope is that this little shop becomes a place to discover something unexpected. We have familiar favorites mixed with lesser-known books, local and PNW authors, diverse voices, wonderfully weird stories, and books you can't wait to tell someone else about.

I hope to see you at a pop-up or event somewhere along the way. Come wander the shelves, tell me what you're reading, and maybe leave with something you didn't know you were looking for.
